Oh my god! I laughed so hard I cried. Thank you so, so much. Perhaps the ugliness of the furniture is debatable but the hilarity of the narrator's snarky tone is not....tri-state area street... hahaha!
This furniture is hopelessly dated, but doesn't quite hit the metric for ugly. I wish I could find a link to some furniture ads that ran in the Minneapolis Star/Trib during the 80's. There was something I called "cabin furniture" which consisted of a neo-colonial shape couch or chair with a large floral pattern apholstry predominated by burnt orange, brown and gold.

I liked the "space lamp," but that was all....
lol... ugh, my parent's house..
the narrator sounds a lot like the monarch. haha.
No. No, you're wrong. It was all ugly, that's objective fact, and there is something very, very, wrong with you. I hope you find the help you need.
hey space lamp ... want to live inside my earth house? thanks. hahaha
yeah some of that stuff wasn't so bad. I rather liked that first abstract painting he zeroed in on.
That .. ceramic lion thing, though.. there's no excuse for that :P
The VO sounds a lot like Warren DeMontague! Maybe he's doing commercial work now?
*Nurse! 400mg of Thorazine STAT!* Just relax, drinkcoke2009, we're going to take very good care of you.
When he said, "Look at these couches!" I was so sure he was going to follow it up with a "Just look at them!"
I am disappointed.
This stuff is bad, but it's missing "home theater seating". Illuminated cupholders for every seat. (Hi, Sprintz furniture in Nashville!)
That's still not as ugly as this:

...or this (though this isn't furniture):

Those are all rather stylish actually.
Those who are from Melbourne (Australia) would know of Franco Cozzo who's somewhat of a "quality" furniture legend...
Everyone else, please observe:

I'll take "ugly"...
so long as it's comfortable!
I'll throw "beauty" out....
if sitting on it gives me cramps.
The couches are kind of all right...neutral.
The lamps and sculpture, though, are just unbelievable.

(and most of you already filled in the missing words)
I'm totally hearing Jon Lovitz in this.
The Eurobad furniture wasn't so bad. It's a bit dated, but some of it is quite nice. Some Danish Modern, etc.
Anyway, I'd guess the "Eurobad '74" sign at the beginning was from a bathroom-fixtures trade show.
I think Franco Cozzo was more famous for his drug importing (inside the above mentioned ugly furniture) then he ever was for the furniture itself.
sarcasm
As for Xeni's article I'm offended by the constant attacks on lower social demographics by liberal hipsters. We can't all afford trendy furniture.
/sarcasm.
